Similar to regular counseling, nutrition counseling can help improve your relationship with food, look at what has and hasn't worked in the past, and create new, healthy habits to meet your goals.

This can include elimination diets or diets to improve specific issues: autoimmunity, food sensitivities, GI issues, or doctor prescribed diets.
Anti-inflammatory diets are a big focus of what I do.

Frustrated, stuck, hopeless
these are words associated with weight loss. I work with clients to move past fad diets (that don't work) and create lasting habits to create health and support weight loss.

Support
Providing education and support is an important part of my work. I provide email and chat options for clients to answer questions and encourage my clients in between appointments.

Too often food choices can feel stressful and not knowing what you
“should” be eating can make it confusing and stressful (no good!)
My job is to help my clients clarify their goals, provide education about food and nutrition and come up with a plan that works to meet their goals. A good plan will take into account:

Time - This is so important! Most people are busy and need a plan they can stick with long term. It must fit into your schedule, not the other way around.

Budget - healthy eating does not have to be super expensive.

How much you want to cook, prep and shop, how much you eat out, food preferences and special diets.

Medical diagnosis - Often a dietitian is a helpful part of your medical team, nutrition can have a big impact on cholesterol, blood pressure, disease management and prevention.
